Iron(y) contains one series, which is divided in two different sub-series.
The two sub-series are different from technique, form and looks. Both series express the feeling of the influence of an enormous party, called “Iron”. One series shows the impressive environment, where the party is located (enormous high buildings, with strong architecture). Because of this massive architecture, you can feel the party’s largeness.
The other series shows some portraits of the party members, photographed in a way, known from the formal Eastern Europe. But if you take a closer look, you’ll find out that the members show some similar details...
In spite of the use of one single person per image, the huge size of the party is present.
The series Iron(y) has been published in GUP magazine #01, 2005.
Iron(y) is rewarded with two awards; the Silver jury-award and the Best of Members award in the category "People/Portraits" of the PANL Award#15, 2006 of the Photographers Association of the Netherlands.
